Chris

After spending an interesting night at the Kitty Cat Klub, I strolled down 4th street on my way home. I passed a guy named Chris who was holding a sign saying the usual; hungry, homeless, veteran. I asked him if he wanted a slice of Mesa pizza. He jumped up pretty fast.

Anyways, after Chris got his pepperoni slice, he told me his story. Apparently he served in Kuwait in the early 90's as part of the Desert Storm Operation, and like many other veterans he continues to suffer from PTSD and various other mental hauntings. He and his dog travel around the midwest as drifters.

The reason I'm writing this post is because of Chris' last words to me. I asked him if he had any advice for me, what would he say?

He said, "man... look at these people (points at the college kids in line at Mesa). All they know is texting and Facebook. They've never been anywhere. They've never had the blood of innocent people on their hands. That'll do something to a man."
