Rodney Mullen appreciation

Like many other kids that grew up with Nintendo 64, I wanted to be a skateboarder after playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater obsessively with my friends. One of the characters that you could choose to be was Rodney Mullen; one of the most accomplished street skaters of all time.

You don't have to like skateboarding to appreciate these clips; they're pretty amazing. The first one is from Japan in 1984 - gives you an idea of how long Mullen's been skating.

I saw Lupe Fiasco for the second time in my life last night. He came to St. Peter, Minn. to rock out at Gustavus Adolphus College - which was surprising, considering the small size of the school.

I really think Lupe is the best lyrical rapper alive. He shits on Wayne when it comes to content, flow, originality, really any category. The only thing Wayne does better than anyone is slurp codeine and continue his daily trek to becoming brain-dead.

My favorite song from last night (and from the last time I saw him) was Daydreamin'. The contrasts between the soft and loud parts and the build-ups in-between give me shivers. He really knows how to entertain! Look for the new album coming out soon.

I'm not sure how I've never seen this... she's right up the same alley as Phelps-Roper and the preacher from Jesus Camp.

I watched the whole episode (it's in 10 parts, just type in "god warrior") on YouTube... it's absolutely disgusting how Perrin (the fat, gap-toothed jesus freak) acts holier than thou while the hippie dude is obviously a better person than her in every way. Perrin won't listen to anything that she is scared of or doesn't understand. Pathetic!

I never thought rapper Sam Adams would look like this. As much as I hate to say it, a rapper's appearance definitely plays into the respect factor, unless their skills are unreal. Sam Adams is average and looks like a kid that I would hate... plus he's from Boston.

I really would have liked to see Butler win last night. They played great D and they run a good fast break. Also, there's just something cool about the little school winning a championship.

I also just naturally hate Duke. There are so many superficial fans that claim they've repped Duke since birth, yeah okay buddy.
