Tribute To Nike Dunk

Now as some people know, the Nike Dunk is one of my favorite all time sneakers. Although I'm not up to par with others and I don't have a major collection of Dunks, I too can enjoy a damn good shoe. For one of my graphic design classes we had to create a "neon looking" sign, and I decided to dedicate my piece to the Nike Dunk.

A Tribe Called Quest - "Check the Rhime"

Classic early-90's hip-hop.

No way did this actually happen

I got the below quote from my favorite sports site on the entire internet, ProFootballTalk.com.

At the Scouting Combine, the Wonderlic exam is administered to players in groups. The 12-minute test is preceded by some brief instructions and comments from the person administering the test.

Per a league source, after the person administering the test to Tebow's group had finished, Tebow made a request that the players bow their heads in prayer before taking the 50-question exam.

Said one of the other players in response: "Shut the f--k up." Others players in the room then laughed.

"TRUE LIFE: I have a digital drama" - worthless human beings

I saw this a few nights ago and couldn't stop laughing/raging.

Honestly, this is why foreign people hate America - by watching shitty people like this on MTV. The levels of retardedness that the subjects of this show reach are off the charts.

Also, you KNOW that MTV is just trying to play off of the Jersey Shore formula... which isn't a bad idea I guess, since that show gave them their best ratings in a while. Also, it's still really funny.

Probably the saddest part is that these people think they are superstars for being on these shows. Their levels of worthlessness are laughable and highly entertaining, although sometimes all you can do is shake your head and think, "wow."

The promo clip is below; click here to see the whole episode.

"Soundtrack to my Life" video - Kid Cudi

Forwarded to me by Shubham Debnath.

Saint Mary's (College of CA)

Here's a nice article about the Saint Mary's College Gaels advancing to the Sweet 16. They are actually a sister school to SMU - hopefully we can share in their success in the future.

The Gaels' first round win was their first victory ever in the national tournament. Their second round win against Villanova was their first win against a top-10 team.

SMC plays Baylor at 6:27 p.m. on Friday.

WSU basketball: Jonte's blog and next year's newcomers

I really miss the WSU basketball team from about 2005-2008. They were honestly the most entertaining team that I've ever seen.

Here's a blog written by former WSU forward Jonte Flowers on his European experience (he plays basketball professionally there).

And with the future in mind, here are the new recruits coming in for next year's team - including Anthony Tucker, another D-1 transfer. It's almost expected at this point that they will pick up a transfer every offseason.

I definitely consider myself more of a Saint Mary's basketball fan at this point, but growing up in Winona in the mid-2000's it was all about WSU. I still enjoy going to their games, and I went to three or four this year. I liked this year's team as a young squad with potential - by next year they will be matured and will have only graduated one senior. I don't think they'll ever be as good as they used to be, but who knows?

John Mayer: best guitarist alive

I hope you all had a great weekend, I ended up visiting the Mall of America yesterday along with performing that night at Jefferson's.

Originally by the Mamas and the Papas, this is a great tune covered by today's best guitarist.

Here's a collab between Mayer and Jay-Z. I love it.

Transformers: The Return of Optimus Prime

I have previously stated my disdain for the new Transformers movie franchise. Personally, I think that the latest installment ("Revenge of the Fallen") was one of the biggest pieces of shit that came out last year. Megan Fox is ridiculously overrated and the non-stop action and ultra-fast editing was like watching Sportscenter's "Ultimate Highlight" for two hours - only instead of seeing interesting, relevant sports clips I was forced to watch a million explosions and horrifically corny one-liners.

One of the main reasons I hate this franchise (a lot) is because I loved the original cartoons so god damn much as a youth. I recall my older cousins dropping off a box of Transformers action figures and taped episodes off of the Sci-Fi channel sometime around 1993. I then proceeded to snap up a good amount of Transformers comic books, and I still have #'s 1-70 sitting at my parent's house.

I'd like to share with you one of my favorite cartoon episodes, besides the animated movie from 1986. This one is about a space spore (lol) that basically infects the world until Optimus Prime comes back from the dead and makes things right. Classic!

Scoops Callahan: 1920's sports reporter

For some reason I found this hilarious.

Two of my friends from Saint Mary's that graduated in 2008 have enjoyed some success with their hip-hop group. When I say hip-hop, I mean kindergarten dance rap... I mean... just check it out, I can't really describe it.

These guys are two of the best pure performers I know. Their energy is undeniable and they definitely know how to rock a crowd.

Neil Peart plays a solo at the Buddie Rich memorial concert

Unreal... One of my favorite drum solos. Speed and precision is at an all-time high here.

"Like That" Chip Tha Ripper's new video

I have a great appreciation for rap music videos with an artistic theme and/or impressive cinematography - Kanye's Welcome to Heartbreak video is a prime example.

Here's one along those same lines, Cudi's boy Chip tha Ripper with Like That:

Osama Bin Laden: Dead or Alive?

Here's a really interesting article on whether or not Osama Bin Laden is still alive. I've honestly been wondering this for quite some time now, and after reading this article I am leaning towards him being deceased - Take a look.
